In December 15, 2000, there was a serious accident on
the highway interchange in Angthong Province. A heavy
truck carrying highly-flammable fuel was accidentally
capsized causing spilling and igniting of the flamable
fuel. Three out of seven spans of the prestressed-concrete-girder-type
bridge was seriously damaged.
Department of Highway
awarded the contract to IMMS to determine the effects
of the fire damage to the whole structure. IMMS perform
a complete inspection and evaluation to determine reserved
capacity of the structures after the accident, provide
repair procedure and verify the loading-capacity of the
structure after the completion of structural rehabilitation
as per IMMS recommendations.
